Susan said to find the total cost of a $250 dollar bycicle and the 7% tax, you could figure 7% of $250 and then add that amount to $250.

357.14 then you add that to 250.00 the answer is $607.14

Susan would be correct. You multiply 250 × 7% (.07)

250 × .07 = 17.5 This is the amount of tax. Add it to the price (250) to get the total cost.

250 + 17.50 = $267.50
