So for this problem you have to divide 2.40 by 6 to figure out how much each cake cost. So 2.40 divided by 6 equals 0.40. So each cake is 40 cents. Then just multiply .40 and 10 to figure out how much ten cakes cost. And .40 times 10 is 4. So ten cakes is $4.00.

You do 2.40/ 6 and you get 4 cents.
Than you multiply 4 and 10 and you get 40.

So your answer is 40 cents.
