x+ 2y = 4

we have that
x - y = 4-------> multiply by -1-----> -x+y=-4-----> equation 1
x+ 2y = 4------> equation 2

add equation 1 and equation 2
-x+y=-4
x+2y=4
-----------------
0+3y=0-----> y=0
x+2y=4------> x+0=4------>x=4

the solution is the point (4,0)
