So, x^2 + 14 x + 49 - 4 = 0;

Then, we use the formula ( a + b )^2 = a^2 + 2ab + b^2;

We have ( x + 7 )^2 - 2^2 = 0;

Then, ( x + 7 )^2 - 2^2 = 0;

We use the formula a^2 - b^2 = ( a - b)( a + b );

We obtain ( x + 5 )( x + 9) = 0;

Then, x + 5 = 0;

x = -5;

x + 9 = 0;

x = - 9;

-5 and - 9 are the zeros of the quadratic function.
