A student claims that 8^3 • 8^-5 is greater than 1. Explain wheather the student is correct or not.

The student is right. Because when multiplying both numbers, we have to multipy the exponents together. And in this case we are going to get 8^-15. And when it is simplified, it is actually bigger than 1.
