The  " laboratories of federalism/democracy "  which relates to advantage of federalism is that it provides store of innovation. Federalism promotes policy innovation as we see various states and local governments adopt different policies and laws which could be tested by other states and national government. Thus both states and national government can learn from each others successes and failures.
