What is the slope of the line passing through the points (2, −5) and (4, 1)?

The slope is the change in Y over the change in X

(2, -5)  (4,1)

Change in Y = 1 - (-5) = 1+5 = 6

Change in X = 4 - 2 = 2


Slope = 6/2 = 3

Slope = 3
