Hi Haley,

Find the product mentally. [(x + 1)(x - 1)]^2

----------------------------------------------------------

Solution:

= (x^2 − 1)^2

= (x^2 − 1) * (x^2 − 1)

Answer: x^4 − 2x^2 + 1

I presume it should be [(x + 1)(x - 1)]²

in that its

(x + 1)(x - 1) is a differences of squares products do its x²-1

(x²-1)² is a standard square or ax² + 2ab + c²

so its x^4 - 2x² + 1
