Use distributed property

4x^3 (x^2 -5x+4)


4x^3(x^2)+4x^3(-5x)+4x^3(4)


Note exponents are added


4(1)x^3+2+ 4(-5)x^3+1+4(4)x^3


4x^5-20x^4+16x^3
