In Macbeth by William Shakespeare, the three witches tell Banquo in Act I, Scene III that although he will not be king, his sons shall be kings in the future which instigates Macbeth’s actions where he kills Banquo. "Lesser than Macbeth, and greater." "Not so happy, yet much happier." "Thou shalt get kings, though thou be none: /So all hail, Macbeth and Banquo!" (Act I, scene iii.)
