Answer: It was two major battles that after winning convinced the french to give them much needed help and aid, making it the turning point in the revolutionary war.

The battle of Saratoga was so important in the war because it was the first MAJOR military win the Americans had against the British forces. Furthermore, because of their victory it convinced other nations that the Americans were capable of winning their independence and was the reason they openly supported the rebels.
