(My dates could be wrong) Japan entered World War 1 because of the British. On August 7, 1914 the British government asked Japan to help destroy the raiders from the German Navy. Seven days later, the Japanese sent Germany an ultimatum but Germany never answered so Japan declared war on Germany on August 23, 1914.
