What were accepted roles for men and women in Victorian era

On this time, men are viewed as the "brave knights". Men are considered to be the parent that maintains the family and gives support. The role of men should be defending their own country acording to this time period. 

Women on the World War I and World War II were obligated to get out of the house, and to work for the military in a passive way which involves such as agriculture.
