To convert the measurement in kilometers to meters, multiply the value by 1000. The given 3.5 km is equivalent to 3500 meters. The final displacement from the starting point to the tiger is obtained by subtracting the distance he traveled backwards from the distance he traveled moving forward.

                                3500 m - 1250 m = 2250 m

Thus, the answer is 2250 meters.
