The kinetic energy is the energy when an object is in motion. It is expressed as the product of the mass of the object and the square of the velocity divided by two. The mass of the object in the problem is solved by using the expression.

KE = mv^2/2 = 600 kg (12 m/s)^2
KE = 86400 J
