120 = 2 * 2 * 2 * 3 * 5

The greatest common factor (GCF) would be gotten from the factors common to both 72 and 120.

The common =  2 * 2 * 2 = 8

The GCF = 8

The gcf is 24 because that's the highest number you can multiply multiple times to get both those numbers.
