6x-5=2x-3

First, subtract 2x from both sides

6x-2x-5=2x-2x-3

4x-5= -3

4x-5+5= -3+5

4x=2

Now, the constants are on one side, with the variables on the other. x is not by itself though, it is being multiplied  by 4. So, divide both sides by 4.

4x/4=2/4
