what is the equation of the line that is parallel to the line y=2x+7 and passes through the point (-2,1)

the line is parallel so the slope is the same. So the slope = 2
Using a point-slope equation we have
 y-y1 = 2(x-x1)
plug in the points
y-1 = 2(x-(-2))
=> y = 2x + 4 - 1 
=> y = 2x +3
