Christianity, Judaism, and Islam are the three major religions in the world. They are known as Abrahamic religions because their founders, or major figures, are descended from Abraham. In 2015, it was estimated that there were around 2.3 billion people who considered themselves Christian. Around 1.8 billion people – or 24% of the world’s population are Muslim.
