In Theodore's mind, he felt like traveling across land upon land, it would help "the great white fleet" improve their battling skills and mind skills while running across other dangerous paths along the way to the Philippines, and also to impress Japan that they could travel from the Atlantic to the Pacific . To also let him see how determined the fleet would be, while also gaining new crew members to help and travel along with them
