Answer:

I don’t want to be a downer or ruin your day, but reasons and impartiality rarely influence decisions, at least not the degree that we would like to think. You might be convinced that you use a particular brand of soap because it is superior to other brands, or that you live in a given place because you chose it for its benefits to you. Probably not. Bias abounds and it often rules.
