Religion in the Eastern Hemisphere similar to the Western helped to create order and also division. Islam served as a major force of unification amongst peoples in the Eastern Hemisphere specifically in the Middle East. However, even this religion also served as a divider in regards to differences between sects. Similar forces of unity and division occurred in Asia between Hinduism, Buddhism, and other systems of belief or religion.
