James, Ann and Frank have 14 pencils total. James has 2 pencils, and Ann has 4 pencils. How many pencils does Frank have?

All we have to do is subtract however many pencils the others have.

So, lets do James first.

14-2=12

Now we subtract Ann's.

12-4=8

So, Frank has 8 Pencils.
