The general equation of the line : y = m * x + b

where m is the slope , b is y -intercept

Given the function :

[tex]y=8x+20[/tex]

The rate of change of the equation = the slope of the function

So, by comparing the given equation to the general from

The slope = m = 8

So, the rate of change = 8
