It looks like √ j + √ j + 14 = 3√ j + 10. You would solve this by first simplifying the left side to 2√ j + 14, and then put the 14 to the right side like this 2√ j + 14 - 14 = 3√ j + 10 - 14. so it would be 2√ j = 3√ j - 4. Then you would put the 3√ j to the left side like this 2√ j - 3√ j = -4. SImplify: -√ j = -4, divide by -1 on both sides:  √ j = 4. Square on both sides: (√ j)^2 = 16. and you get that j = 16
