6x = y + 3

Remember, standard form is ax + by = c

So, simply subtract y from both sides so that x and y are on the same side.

6x - y = 3

The formula for standard form is ax+by=c.

6x=y+3 is the slop-intercept version.

Move the y to the left, which changes it to -y.

6x-y=3!!
