The fornix connects the hippocampus to the thalamus and amygdaloid bodies.
The fornix has triangular shape and consits of white matter. The 
most recognized and important function of the fornix is its involvement in memory.  Damage to the fornix results in inability  of the affected person to create new memories and is associated with anterograde amnesia.
