Let a and b be events with p(a) = 0.51 and p(a ∩ bc) = 0.4. for what value of p(b) will a and b be independent?

When A and B independent, P(A) × P(B) = P(A∩B)

We have 
P(A) = 0.51
P(A∩B) = 0.4

P(B) = 0.4 ÷ 0.51
P(B) = 0.78
