A wire that is 66 metres long has to be cut into two pieces. The ratio of the lengths of two pieces is 7 : 5. How long is each piece?

Hey there! :D

Add the ratios together. 

7+5= 12

66/12= 5.5

5.5*7= 38.5

5.5*5= 27.5

One piece is 38.5 meters and the other is 27.5 meters.
