1. First, you can divide both sides by 2 to make it easier to solve

3(3b + 5) = 6b - 21

Next, you can divide both sides by 3

3b + 5 = 2b - 7

Subtract both sides by 2b and 5

b = -12 is your answer

2. First, divide both sides by 2

5y - 2 = 5y - 2

It is clear these are the same equation, so there will be infinite solutions
